ACS - Luke & Guy vs Triple Sync & Triple Nebilim (in groups of 2)
*As always, ACS is not my creation. It was made by a certain Anibache. I am the one who did this hacked battle, but not the one behind the hard work of this game.*
* Story : The Barbatos cave was not the source of the evil boss clones. Guy reunites with Luke, and together they seek more clues. On a snowy mountain, the pick up the trail of bosses, and just as they see a boss hideout, they are ambushed. The two friends quickly use some temporary stat-boosting items and defend themselves.
*
A harder-than-it-looks battle that's utterly chaotic. And epic. Luke and Guy? Check. Sync&Allies and Nebilim? Check. Snow stage, like that epic battle in Tales Of The Abyss? Check. Awkward Justice as music? Check. This is basically a TotA boss battle within ACS.
How it turned out :
Quite hectic with 4 players and some lag. It took me some tests to balance this fight out ; I wanted it hard, but not impossible.
What makes this fight hard is the fact both Sync and Nebilim are annoying to fight on their own. Together, they make a nasty team.
Luke makes this fight more interesting, but not always easier. Allies can mess up your combos very easily ; they can push you out of the way, and if they hit as well, sometimes the game thinks that's too many hits and stops your combo. And oftentimes, if attacking near the edge of the field, you get blown away.
It's surprising how good Luke is on the offense, but he sucks on the defense. In the end, I came up with 4 general strategies involving the ally :
1. Attack together from the same side. Useful if the enemy is in the corner, but it's easy to get pushed out of your combo.
2. Attack together from opposite sides. Useful if the enemy is not in a corner. Harder to get pushed away, and harder for the enemy to break out of it, since they must hit you both.
3. Separate ; solo one enemy each. This works amazingly well for weaker CPUs ; Luke's 100% AI obliterates them. Against harder CPUs though, it's not a good idea.
4. Screw your ally, tell him to go chew on some Gels, and solo both enemies. I generally do this when I'm high on TP and low on patience, and go all Mystic Arte at every occasion.
Finally, after this fight, I took a liking to Natalia's power.
