Haven't posted a Tyrian video in a while, haven't I? That's mostly because I finished my list of Tyrian videos I wanted to make. This video is the last one of the list, so any further Tyrian videos will probably be randomly decided.

So here's the Ship Editor. If you downloaded the game, chances are it came with the download.
It allows you to customize your ships, which can then be "summoned" in-game by pressing TAB-#, where # is the number of the custom ship. Interestingly, it won't let you equip all weapons of the game ; it will only let you equip weapons you've used in the real game. How it works is very weird, as it seems to depend on how many levels you keep a weapon for, and how much destruction you get. I still couldn't unlock everything with the Ship Editor, although everything is usable with TyrHack.

The ShipEditor works wonders with TyrHack ; change a weapon, then use the Ship Editor to fly a ship that has it.


The graphic editor is a mess. It's VERY stiff and hard to control. Paint is better. The problem, however, is that you can't really import pictures with the editor. You technically CAN, but they have to be a specific format with Tyrian's color palette. I eventually got it to work, but it STILL messed up some colors, and it was ridiculously complicated to do. So yeah, the custom ships I've used in previous Tyrian videos were completely made with this stiff graphical editor. It required patience.


Finally, the Jukebox. This is an older Jukebox that was left out in favor of the new one in Setup.exe.
It's cool. You can press buttons to create very awesome visual effects (and lag). I messed around with it, showing some effects I discovered.
It looks cool, doesn't it?

Well, remember Tyrian is a 256-color game.
That's right, a game from the mid nineties, limited to 256 colors, has not one, but TWO Jukeboxes with visual effects that look impossibly awesome.
