I made the executive decision to go with 720p to avoid all the stretchy black borders bullcrap. As President Dr. Indiana Solo once said "Get off my Plane:"

Now I'm going to play a little of the devil's avocado here. So bear with me ok? The time period: Post 9/11

Spielberg had his Nazis, Lucas had his storm troopers and Pokemon had it's Team Rocket. All of which became shameless punching bags in various movies and media. This happened because of the atrocities in WW2. It was fun and cathartic to see these Third Riech stand-ins die horribly , fail hard and never win (pwned is more like it).

A lady named the USA was punched in the nose hard. With two black eyes to show for it. The entire allied world felt sorry for her and pledged to retaliate. Thus... terrorists in general were the victim of choice. In the comfort of your basement, you too could clap back for Uncle Sam, if you weren't the kind to join the military and do it irl.

The terrorists or GLA came in all sorts of flavors. Toxin, HE Bombs and Stealth. It would have been ridiculously shameful, if not for the Toby Keith/Neil Young=esque "Let's Roll and Put a Foot in their Ass, Boys" attitude that meshed nicely with the War on Terror.

So we have the Superman tech and shock and awe of the US military partnered with China of all nations ready to eradicate the sneaky overtly evil GLA.

That's this game. If you are boring and nerdy enough to kick some terrorist ass RTS style then the world was your oyster when playing Generals. That's if you weren't a fan of the series before this release. The old guard of C&C hated this direction and vocally made sure that EA went back to their kind of bullshit. Leaving the fans of the red headed stepchild named Generals with no further iterations to play. Well besides an online FTP game that was coming along nicely and cancelled at a late stage.

Look into the mods of the time, as there is some great stuff. From British units, true to life military hardware and even a "terror plane" special attack. I loved this game, I saw through the warmongering, but still loved the whole concept of a WW3 on terrorism.

One other thing. I have never played this game against a human. Literally thousands of games played and only the PC to keep me company.

protip: the Chinese can be the Zerg analog, if not for the slow af vehicles/helicopters with the US taking on the SC2 Terran/Protoss role and the GLA can almost slightly compare to SC1 Terrans (before you get the wraiths). Feel free to school me on my shitpost opinion. I can take it.

USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!

funfact: I also forgot to mention the ace up my sleeve of this action run and I literally watched videos of teens for 4 hours. Disney and teens hold the oddity and some say the window to a man's soul is his private internet history. And by mine you'd think that I fell in love with an underage pre-spidey Zendaya. In her disney show years back by the name of K.C. Undercover, they actually used music from Command and Conquer: Generals. The USA music that is for spy/gov't vibes I assume. I will still look for the song when get free time. If you find it please link me the vid. And believe me oogling anything on K.C. Undercover is difficult. Lots of unattractive people and flat as a board bodies (not unattractive because of their race, but because they just are). So yeah, K.C. Undercover licensed music from C&C: Generals. My kid's used to be Disney channel zombies and I heard it with my own ears people. That is all.
