This track is one of the pieces of music I've written for my current Master's Thesis, where I'm writing about how video game music creates strong enough positive emotional reactions to the point of them wanting to listen to it outside of the game itself or cover it. Adaptive Toppling serves as a proof of concept in regards to synchronicity in game music, in other words how specific musical cues in sync with on-screen events work together to create strong emotional reactions. It takes inspiration from Devil May Cry V and Metal Gear Rising, and uses the Gilgamesh boss fight from DMC V as reference.
