Adulthood (Isn't A Total Transformation)—Ocarina of Time Ep. 05 | Casual Zelda With My Sister
In this casual Let's Play series, my sister and I have interesting conversations inspired by experiencing Ocarina of Time with the fresh eyes of adulthood.
In this episode, my sister and I rescue Princess Ruto (and the Zora's Sapphire!) from Jabu-Jabu, killing Barinade in the process. I then take the warp from Zora's Domain to Lake Hylia, where I teach a scarecrow a song and kill a couple of Gold Skulltulas before hitching a ride with Kaepora Gaebora straight into the cutscene of Zelda and Impa fleeing from Ganondorf!
We then head into castle town, where we find a dying guard we'd never seen before. I want to grab Din's Fire, so I head to Hyrule Castle, where the guard is no longer able to be bribed, then I get Din's Fire from the "Dead End." From there, I return Richard to his owner (after losing another, very persistent stray), then head into the Temple of Time.
After pulling the Master Sword from the pedestal, the episode partially turns into a podcast, as my sister and I get talking about what it's like to become an adult, how that differs from being a kid, the way our tastes mature, and how that affects what we enjoy. There's also a side-helping about the importance of having a diversity of representation and making groups of people as 3-Dimensional as we want our characters to be. We finally end this episode in the Temple of Time after Sheik gives us our next bit of direction!
