Here's a fairly technical tutorial about the performance implications of detecting events from fill clocks and the delay you incur by moving some of the commands off to a separate fill line.

If you have fills running off a fill clock, this information could be important to you and explain why things don't behave as you might think they should. In this tutorial I also explain what a Tile Tick is, which is the reason fill clocks are even possible in the first place.
