Adventures of Chris is a Platformer made in a classic style with a hint of Metroid to it. So your chubby hero got the superpower to inflates himself and acts mostly like a helium filled balloon. This essentially turns the gravity upside down and you can do some neat dodging maneuvers with it. On the recommend difficulty the game is always fair. Each screen transition is essentially a checkpoint. So if you die by falling into a pit or by losing all your health, you start at the beginning of the room, but with full health and magic.
Also you have no life counter, so you can go by trial and error. Learning by each attempt (specially for the bosses) you get better and better each time you try.
But even with t he ability to fly, the game isn't easy. It gets harder each level.
On the other hand each level has a master hidden or not hidden, which teaches you a new ability. This can be a passive ability or an active ability like new types of magics. The game also hides collectibles inside, so each level got a little flag of the country and depending on your abilities, you might get it right away or you have to get back there later. Some levels also contain a lost book from the liberary. Getting all flags grants you the lightning spell and getting all books powers up your sword spell.
Aside that each level got as "collectible" floating cookies. You can spend such cookies or health up, magic up and "re-float" Powerups. Health and Magic should be clear. With Re-Float i mean that you can normally turn into a balloon by holding the right trigger, if you let it go, you can't infalte yourself again until you where standing on some ground. But buying "re-float" powerups adds one to the counter, so you can inflate, fall and inflate again.
You can also spend these cookies on new clothes, which increases your defense a bit more, than the previous one.

Overall i think this game is a real hidden gem for classic 2D Platformer Fans and i can only suggest to try it out.
Little note: even if i put this Video on "for kids" i think the game can be enjoyed by any age. I fully played through the game in about 5 hours, so it's not too long. The reason i put this video and game "for kids" is basically through the design of the characters and enemies. The game got a lighter tone in everything and also holds and important message to chubby kids like chris is. Despite for getting mocked he is pushing through his journey even at the beginning where he hasn't any super powers. He isn't getting offended, but wields more of the attitude "i will show that they are wrong", believing in himself while most of the other characters doesn't.
