Aero Elite: Combat Academy on PCSX2 - Replay Room (F-2A vs. F-1 x 2)
Don't think for a second that this game (which, by the way, is the fourth and final entry in the 'AeroWings'/'Aero Dancing' series) plays anything like the arcade-oriented 'Ace Combat' series. If anything, not only does it takes a more realistic approach in flight simulation (as this game utilizes fairly accurate flight physics, real weapon loadouts, authentic take-off and landing sequences plus a whole lot more), it also places great emphasis on aircraft which, at the time of this game's release, were either active or have served with the Japan Self-Defense Forces (since, you know, this game is Japanese-developed and all). Now I'm no professional pilot and all, but I can say it's quite difficult to fly and fire weapons effectively if one doesn't know what they're doing (just like real life, I assume). Also, leave it to Sega AM2 to make a realistic flight simulator interesting.
Now let's see how I fared against two antiquated Mitsubishi F-1 strike aircraft in the newer Mitsubishi F-2 multirole fighter jet (which, at the time of this game's release, was one of the most advanced military jets in active service as it was the first ever combat aircraft to implement an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) radar).
