Aerofly FS 4 Flight Simulator (VR Gameplay) - Testing MANY Vehicles With Motion Controls!
28Due an error at the end of the recordingsession it seems that small framedrops entered the footage, there were no framedrops during my VR session, i was very surprised on how smooth this works in VR on best settings!
Aerofly FS 4 Flight Simulator is, to put it clearly in few words, a very high-quality and comprehensive FS.
The quality is also more in the middle of performance and graphics, so you will get a very pleasant experience with beautiful scenery.
If you have very strong hardware you can (should) install the free 'Scenery: USA High Resolution' DLC which gives the regions in America a higher resolution and also brings remarkable visual improvements, this is definitely recommended if you are a VR player.
Besides this DLC there are also 2 other free DLC's that together add up to almost 1000 European airports with of course the corresponding regions, these DLC's also have the higher resolution update that the USA DLC has to offer.
I mentioned earlier that the game is very extensive, which we can see from the more than a thousand custom modeled airports that are standard in the game, and with more than 10,000 pre-programmed flights I think you are covered for life. And then you have to realize that you can follow even more routes on your own initiative just because it is possible.
So I'm playing the game in VR, and this is pretty awesome. I was already impressed when I played FS2020 in VR but the motion controls are not as 'realistic' as you would hope, motion controls but with a laser, so you hardly have to move.
So in Aerofly FS 4 Flight Simulator you get that more realistic feeling where you have to reach your arms in all directions to operate the buttons and levers,
You will also have to turn to operate the buttons next to you and based on which aircraft you operate, keep your back straight for a while to operate a button above you that is more in height.
This gives some extra immersion during the VR experience, you also quickly learn to understand that changing the sitting position / reaching for a button or operating a lever can be more distracting than you think as a pilot during a flight, now you can with most aircraft do maintain some sort of stabilization with the aircraft where you have time enough to even look around to find the right button before the keys start to tilt or deviate from course but the experience where you have to react quickly is still present.
Flying in video games, especially if it is virtual reality, always has a relaxing effect on the gamer, at least in my experience anyway, you are at a very high altitude between, above or below the clouds and have a huge view around you where you constantly gawk at and admire.
