I looked online and found that U1, one of the 6526 chips handles the datasette, so I decided it was time to swap the chips and see what if that made any difference...we shall soon see!
So far, well, it is working, but it is not...so, Rudy suggests I clean the head...good thought, but I still want to try another tape...and I did find one that was from TPUG, yes, the Toronto Pet Users Group!
I got a call after a flood had inflicted itself on a long time Commodore computer user...in fact, they grew up on the machines, starting out with a small screen, small keyboard PET way back in the day! That machine is sadly long gone, but the Commodore 64 and other items were potential victims of this tragic happening! I will carefully check out the bits and pieces that would have likely otherwise ended up in E-waste or landfill...which would have been awful!
Onward!
