Afterburner II Vs Afterburner Climax (Sega)
10Head-to-Head comparison of the Sega Saturn version of Afterburner II versus Afterburner Climax on PS3. I'm using my original Sega Ages Saturn disc (that I bought back in the late 90's!) on SSF emulator to play Afterburner II it directly on my PC. The disc is a PAL one, which is why it's got the black borders at the top and bottom of the screen and it looks widesceen - apart from that I believe it's identical to the original arcade machine. Despite the graphical enhancements, the gameplay is very much unchanged in Afterburner Climax compared to the original (despite the 'II' in the title,Afterburner II is more or less the same game as Afterburner 1- I think there were just a few audio and visual cosmetic changes) which is part of the reason I think Climax is such a great game - pure 80's nostalgia with a 2006 lick of paint.
