Video Comparison between the PSP and PS1 versions of Ridge Racer 2 and Ridge Racer type 4 on Phantom Mile (Ridge Racer 2 is running on PPSSPP emulator and is probably missing a few minor visual effects and may have a few buggy visuals.

*EDIT - I've realised I had buffered rendering turned off in PPSSPP at the time I video captured the RR2 gameplay, which in this particular revision of it did make a lot of the effects in RR2 go a bit strange, hence the missing wheels, rear lights and other absent car parts. D'oh!*. The version of Ridge Racer Type 4 here is actually being played on my PS3 and was a digital download from the PSN store, although I did own the original PS1 version back in the day, together with the Jogcon controller which was a fun peripheral, but ultimately didn't really add anything to the game-play experience.

Ridge Racer Type 4 on PS1 was a great package, because it also came with a bonus disk containing a new version of the original Ridge Racer, known as Ridge Racer Hi-Spec Demo which ran at 60 frames per second (It also included gouraud shading on the car models). It was a really cool bonus inclusion with an already brilliant game.
