Age of Empire 4's open beta has just launched and in this video you'll see gameplay from my first ever 1v1 match against another player. I'm quite the beginner but fortunately AoE4 is quite new-player friendly in its design. There's also an influx of new players due to the open beta technical stress test, so everyone can get some great matches with a chance of victory!

Age of Empires IV is an upcoming RTS that continues on the Age of Empires Legacy. In this video we'll be playing the Open Beta Technical Stress Test on steam, a free-to-play weekend for everyone to give the game a try, so check it out quickly if you're interested.

Age of Empires 4 sports multiple different races you can play as, with a similar central structure to their bases, but various differences and unique units throughout. Here we will be playing as England, firstly for patriotic reasons, but mostly because I find them the easiest to play. They're the most straightforward, and their longbow are both available early and make for excellent defenders, making them ideal for my typical playstyle.

If you're thinking about playing AoE4 yourself then please check out the video, it should give you a good impression of how the online PvP goes for the less experienced RTS player. If online player vs player isn't your thing, then fortunately Age of Empires IV will also be launching with campaigns to play through against the computer at your own pace.
