The saga continues where speed is the only conqueror. See if you still have the skills to become the champ here in Age of Speed 2! This time, you get to try the race tracks placed on various planets. Your goal remains the same; to win in each race as much as possible. You need to finish in the highest placement to earn ranking points. If you have enough points in that planet, you get to qualify in the next one. The battle is now much more challenging because each racer can now use different abilities by collecting the power up coins.

It's often fun to get behind the wheel of some metal monstrosity and to just go crazy with things and to just go as fast as is humanly (or often, inhumanly) possible. Of course, this has the rather unfortunate downside of often getting the police involved, not something that you really want to happen even under the best of circumstances. Thankfully, there are racing games to cure that itch, and to that end, we're back with another Age of Speed game, the aptly named Age of Speed 2!

Age of Speed does look like its predecessor, but it also seems to come with a few tweaks, both in the visual and the gameplay departments. If you've never played an Age of Speed game before, then brace yourself because you're in for a real wild ride. If you have played an Age of Speed game before, then brace yourself anyway, because you know just how much fun these games are.

The game has the obvious look of a successor to the Age of Speed name to it, although the graphics have received an obvious upgrade. You've got a far more engaging backdrop to the action, not that the first one had a boring one though. Still, there's a lot more detail that's gone into it, and as a result, the overall ambient atmosphere is a whole lot more interesting. What's more, the models for your ride and for those that you're competing against have also been upgraded, making this even more visually appealing than the previous game.

As with the first Age of Speed game, this one has audio that complements the gameplay as well. It's fast, it's upbeat, and it really puts you into the mood for the death-defying stunts that you can do. When paired with the visuals, you've got a really killer atmosphere going once you start playing.

Like the previous game, this is a racer. Also like the previous game, this is not your typical racer where you're driving around on asphalt and burning rubber. You will again be on futuristic racetracks where you defy gravity (and the laws of physics at times) on roller coaster-like tracks. And yes, that includes loops, twists, corkscrews, and all manner of insanity that is absobalalutely awesome. Be prepared for some air time as well, as there are more than a few jumps that you can make that will send you soaring through the air (or space, I suppose) before you land in a stunt-tastic display of mechanical awesomeness.

The game can be a bit challenging at first, what with the fast-pace racing nature of it, but once you get used to it, and you most definitely will what with how fun the game is, the races become even more fun to play. The challenge isn't too difficult, but there's enough of it there to give even hardcore racers a great time.
