Road Wolves Game
No, Road Wolves is not about a bunch of wolves on a road. Rather, it's about a bunch of cars on the road. Why "Road Wolves" then? Well, "Road Cars" doesn't sound quite as much fun. But that's besides the point.
Road Wolves is a game about racing and blowing up other cars. Now, while that may be the premise of quite a few games out there, Road Wolves takes it a bit further. You don't only race cars, you can eventually purchase and upgrade other vehicles such as motorbikes, pickup trucks, or even tanks. Also unlike other games where you can blow up your competition, driving skill is actually a factor here. Being a top-down racer rather than a first-person one, you can see the entire track ahead of time so it's far easier to navigate through the course. Still, despite being easier in that regard, the added challenge of having the other racers trying to blow you apart into shrapnel makes actually finishing first tricky.
Then again, it's not always about finishing first. There are three different levels, Easy, Medium, and Hard. Each difficulty level has four tracks. Each of the four tracks has four different racing modes, Normal, Time Attack, Chaos, and Wasteland, all of which differ from one another in their goals.
In Normal, the race is, well, normal. You're pitted against other racers and attempt to get to the finish line first or otherwise blast the other racers into oblivion. This is perhaps the racing form people will be most familiar with, and it's certainly the most enjoyable.
The second, is where things get pretty technical. In Time Attack, you're driving solo, no other cars to worry about. Your challenge here is to finish the race on time. Finishing first, second, or third, depends on what time you get once you cross the finish line on your final lap. Go too slow, and you lose.
Chaos is a fairly unique racing method. At the start of the race, each racer is paired with another one and then placed on a random point on the course. Each racer thus has a different starting and finishing line, making the race rather chaotic. It's even possible for cars to be going in opposite directions, making collisions rather easy to run into, pun intended.
The final method, Wasteland, is pretty similar to Time attack. This time around though, there are various obstacles in the way just waiting to thrash and trash your car. Your final score depends on just how much armor your car has left by the end of the race.
In all four methods, there's the option to race either forward or reverse, basically doubling the number of tracks. No, reverse doesn't mean that you race backwards, but rather you take the track in the opposite direction. While this may seem a trivial change, it basically changes the entire track as the turns you have to make are all turned around, once again, pun intended. All in all, that's 96 different races for you to run. And with all the different equipment upgrades, weapon purchases, and vehicles to try out, you're certain to keep coming back for more. Have fun!
