It's going to be a nasty yet fun brawl in the west. Show them what a sheriff can do in this action-packed game called Saloon Brawl 2. The goal here is to defeat the foes and knock them out. Be sure to knock out all the needed number of foes to complete the level. If you got hurt by their punches, pick up any bottle to restore your energy. Once your special attack gauge is full, you can unleash a powerful uppercut that will damage multiple enemies. You can also grab wooden barrels and crates to smash them on the bad guys.

Don't you just love spaghetti westerns? The cheesy music, the larger than life bad guys, the flimsy plots, and of course, the action and gratuitous violence. Well, with this game, you'll be able to head on back to the wild west for some good old-fashioned, old-school styled punch-em-up action. Saloon Brawl 2 is the second of the Saloon Brawl games, and it adds a whole lot more to the mix, and also a whole lot more fun.

The game certainly impresses with its graphics. Everything is done in a cartoony-styled 3D, making for some fun and Looney Tunes-esque gratuitous violence. The backgrounds are all also done in this style. Whether you be in the standard wild west jail yard, the eponymous cowboy saloon, or even on the plains of an American Civil War style battle, the backgrounds do not disappoint. They are highly detailed, and there's always something to see.

The controls of the game are fairly simple as can be expected of a beat-em-up game. You move around using standard move-around keys, you punch people up with the X key, block with the Z key, and grab stuff (be they hapless baddies or stuff you can interact with in the environment to beat on said hapless baddies) with the C key. When your beat-em-up meter is full, you can also hit the Space bar to unleash a whole bunch of pain on surrounding bad guys. They're fairly simple controls, but using them right will make the difference between victory and ignominious defeat.

Gameplay-wise, you'll progress from level to level, encountering more and more types of bad guys as you go along. All the levels will be typical wild west styled sets, stuff that you'd expect to see in a spaghetti western. What's better is that you won't only be punching people up (as fun as that may be) but you'll also be given different tasks with different levels. Of course, you've got your standard, keep beating people senseless until you're the only one left standing, type of mission, which are what you'll mostly be facing. But you've also got more interesting stuff like keeping damsels in distress safe, or keeping the piano player from coming to harm while you do aforementioned beating people senseless. Don't expect anything too complicated though, as everything still boils down to lots of fist connecting with lots of face, not that that's a bad thing though.

You'll also get a few interesting levels where you have to contend with the environment just as much as the bad guys. One level, for example, has Wile E. Coyote style cannon balls dropping from the sky to crush you while you take on both Confederate and Union soldiers. Of course, that goes both ways, as you'll also be able to use the environment to take on the bad guys by picking up barrels, smashing tables, or demolishing chairs. All good spaghetti western fun.
