Voidtech feels slightly like it doesn't want to play nicely with any faction because of how the mods interact with them. Still, Vanguard may be the best faction in the game to receive melee warriors from since the jetpack is ridiculous. The ability to teleport behind someone and get all three attacks from a huge distance away is just tremendously strong. It's just that it is hard countered by air. I feel like you could get away with going planes and echo walkers since the air unit has a better air to air gun and counts as heavy for the purpose of the quantum avatar, but I'd still be weary of using that combo as air units are still super fragile.

It's also nice that you get the echo walkers at prime rank since ignoring overwatch gets rid of an innate weakness melee has in this game.
