Aggressors: Ancient Rome is a historical 4X strategy game that throws you into the tense and trying region of the ancient Mediterranean, circa the Roman pre-Empire. It's a super solid indie offering for those 4X and turn-based strategy players out there who love to focus on combat and diplomacy and less on civilization building. I've always been more interested in the civilization-building aspect of 4X games - the eXplore, eXpand and eXploit parts - but this game - alongside At The Gates - can be seen as a great transition title between something like a Civilization game, for instance, and something focused more on conquest like Imperator: Rome from Paradox.
