Akuma Mortis Immortal Arcade
48The legendary evil demon Mortis has been reborn for the umpteenth time, long ago it was exterminated humanity and imprisoned by a valiant hero in two talismans called "The Circle of Light."
But now the demon has succeeded in freeing itself and also frees all the other 6 demons embedded in the seal. All of them cast a curse on earth, transforming most of the population in monsters and demons.
The players plays the role of an unknown "heroes" who must once again reseal all 7 demons in the two talismans and restore the world.
The game is played with two lightguns, in addition to shooting normally players can charge a powerful shot, this is measured with a bar on the left of the screen, this powerful shot not only exterminates multiple enemies, but does massive damage to bosses.
Both players only have two lives and each enemy hit takes away half of one, these can become 4 depending on the players' luck with tarots.
During a stage there will be the possibility of choosing between three tarot cards, at their contain buff for players or either a life or the Joker.
The Joker teleports you to a bonus stage, in this stage have to hit precisely the Joker, all while avoiding hitting innocents, the more times you hit the Joker the more bonus points awarded, each time you hit an innocent you lose points instead.
Hitting innocents in the normal stages instead will take a life, they have a somewhat questionable placement, so be careful where you aim.
You'll play 7 stages (called days in the game) like the total bosses in the game, each one of them has a weak point, which when hit shows a magnified image of thier artwork screaming at the players.
After a boss is eliminated it returns trapped in the "Akuma" card it came out of and then it is up to the players to choose where to place it in the talisman, based on these players choices, the order of stages played will change.
In a few stages there will be minibosses, but they are nothing special, extraordinarily weak and only serve to lengthen the stages.
Each stage is pretty short and action-packed in full arcade style. Once all of them are completed, there will be an extra one that consists of a a two-phase battle with the final boss Mortis.
After the death of the final boss, it too will be sealed in the talisman (right in the middle) and the world will be saved, but the game hints that the threat is eternal and it will someday return to haunt the players in the future.
The game supports 2 players local co-op.
