Dubbed SigRed, the vulnerability resides in Windows DNS in all Windows Server versions from 2003 to 2019. By sending maliciously formed queries, attackers can execute code that gains domain administrator rights and, from there, take control of an entire network. Microsoft is urgently advising Windows server customers to patch SigRed before attackers exploit it and take control.
