Whoa, they made a version of the Aliens MSX game for the Famicom! Why didn't they release this? This looks like it would have been a fun NES game with just a few slight changes before release. The splash damage after killing enemies is just too much. I get it, Xenos have acid blood, but this mechanic is annoying and stupid. The controls are way better, but I still couldn't figure out how to do some moves like jump higher or roll. Luckily I was still able to work around it and beat the game. Alien Queen looks way cooler in this and thankfully you get a life refill before every battle. Still blows my mind how we can play these games thought to be lost to time!

"**Aliens: Alien 2**" is a video game developed for the MSX platform in 1987. Loosely based on the 1986 film Aliens directed by James Cameron, the game is a side-scrolling action title that immerses players in a tense, atmospheric experience as they battle against the xenomorphs.

In the game, you control a character armed with a pulse rifle and grenades, navigating through dark and claustrophobic environments like the corridors of a spaceship or an alien hive. The gameplay involves shooting down waves of xenomorphs and other alien creatures, avoiding deadly traps, and rescuing cocooned crew members. The graphics are simple but effective, capturing the eerie, unsettling mood of the Aliens film with its dark, pixelated aesthetic. The sound design, featuring ominous music and haunting sound effects, further enhances the tension.

Although limited by the hardware of the MSX, "Aliens: Alien 2" is remembered for its challenging gameplay and its faithful, though minimalistic, attempt to recreate the intense atmosphere of the Aliens franchise.
