The Print Whisperer:
Stop the Ooze! One part of the challenge of 3d printing is getting the best surface finish possible, while maintaining strength and optimizing the orientation of the part for proper bed adhesion, build time, material savings, and less support.
Oozing shows itself as small bubbles on the face of the part or stringing in between multiple parts/ features while you print. Matterhackers has a great write-up on some things you can do to minimize oozing here by tweaking retraction and speeding up XY moves:
https://www.matterhackers.com/articles/retraction-just-say-no-to-oozing
However you tried all this, and Nylon is still leaving annoying strings behind in your parts? Well this is one place pay for software Simplify3D can really help you. Build an Ooze shield! This wall surrounds your object so as the nozzle crosses the perimeter any material still hanging will wipe off on the tower surrounding your part. How awesome! (show and tell)
