Alwa's Awakening is a misguided 8 bit metroidvania puzzle platformer. Combining tough pixel perfect precise platforming with the classic metroidvania "where do I go now" exploration can be a recipe for frustration and disaster. Thats exactly what happens here. Shout out to Captain Voorhee's for hooking me up with this annoying AF indie platformer. I died 124 times but I beat it without assist mode.

Positives
- Music can be fairly cool
-assist mode allows to respawn in the room
- ending section is awesome.


Negatives
- puzzle platforming and metroidvania doesnt mix well
- warps are very far apart
- hidden walls are annoying
- could have used a town portal spell like A LOT.
- many rooms effectively only have an entrance and exit and its annoying to explore
