Koei has a long history of hits and blunders when it comes to musou games. They definitely care with Fate/Samurai and it feels like watching a spin off anime series. I can recommend this to Fate fans provided they also like anime brawlers. This is much closer to an action RPG than the typical one vs. a thousand musou and while the Servant fights are great, everything else is kind of lacking and samey. In particular, the town segments are a drag of collecting dried lizards and petting dogs and cats and murdering peons in squared off areas.

Positives
- Story is great. Sabre is very likeable.
- Servant fights are intense
- Very faithful to the series.
- new game plus with VN style different routes (I only beat it the first time)

Negatives
- Areas look way too similar. Gets old quick.
- Town Exploration is weak and boring
- You do not get to control servants enough
- Most enemies are so slow and armored forcing a passive counter style fight
