The Echo Dot and Amazon Tap extend the reach of the Amazon Alexa voice assistant, making it easier to use the power of Alexa in more places. The Echo Dot has all of the power of the original Amazon Echo, but in a much smaller form factor. What's missing is the high-quality speaker. Instead, you can connect the Echo Dot to an external speaker by way of 3.5mm headphone jack, or you can just use the smaller speaker that is built into the device.
The Amazon Tap is a portable Bluetooth speaker with Alexa built in. Connect it to Wi-Fi, and tap the Alexa button to send your commands and requests. Play music to it over Bluetooth, or plug your device directly into the Amazon Tap itself!
