David Lauer confirmed that even trades in the dark pool, and through citadel connect, will be impacted on the lit exchange stock price, at some point, the only way they can cover the shares is by buying block trades from institutions in the dark pool, or from retail block trades through PFOF brokers in the dark pool.
Therefore, when they cover their shares they have to buy from us because we own the float.
What about synthetic shares? can they cover synthetics with synthetics? yes, and they will be, as most of the shares we own are also synthetics, but, when they are purchased, they will just be cancelled.
