Peter Hann gave an update today talking about AMCβs supposed 2nd book trading system, and how actually, one such as this might exist
FINRA has an Alternative Display Facility, which is supposed to just show market data, but a recent amendment made it so parties can actually trade inside this facility, without reference to current market price, off exchange.
These transactions dont have to be reported and dont show up in lit exchanges
What is the benefit of this thought? Well, trading off exchange in FINRAβs ADF wonβt impact the price on the lit exchange, so hedge funds could buy potentailly millions of shares without impacting the market price
