AMD have finally given some details on their FidelityFX Super Resolution, or FSR, which is their answer to Nvidia's DLSS upsampling technology. These are the first real details on how FSR works, and how it will differ from DLSS due to the lack of tensor cores in RDNA 2 GPUs. AMD confirmed that Super Resolution does NOT use machine learning or ML, and is targeting both performance and image quality.
With raytracing becoming more and more of a focus in PC gaming and the PS5 and Xbox Series X next gen consoles, competitive upsampling or super resolution technology is going to be crucial. So can AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution FSR compete against Nvidia's DLSS 2.0?
We also have an update for the as yet unannounced RTX 3080 Ti, as the latest rumours state that the RTX 30 GPU from Nvidia has been DELAYED... again. The RTX 3080 Ti's release date has fluctuated more than British weather, so how long will the RTX 30808 Ti graphics card be delayed for?
