5After something like Move In, the Arrangement series of mods are probably the closest thing I'll ever get to a "HDest-like HL1 experience". Slowing the player down a notch while boosting the damage for everyone, setting enemies (or yourself) ablaze with explosives, use-to-pickup, bleeding effect at low health, reducing the total of ammo the player can carry, the list of features goes on.
Tried a good bunch of them, see if I can wirejam atleast some to play around with custom mapsets, but they always end up with some kind of hiccup one way or the other. Graphical issues, crashing, lacking usable entities, a cavalcade of issues. It's only in recent time that one of the earlier incarnations of the mods, Am's Rebirth, got a nice little fix up that I could play.
You've probably noted that the HUD and models and whatnot are different. It's a bit of a long history of edits that harkens all the way back to the second incarnation of the mod, completely separate from all the Arrangement stuff. A modmix called Black Ops Redux. I've wanted to see what would happen if I try to wirejam Blue Shift's campaign to the setup, though that didn't really worked out.
Still though, the thematic elements stayed, and were useful to do my dream "Blue Shift" experience with custom mapsets. Not entirely sure if I should try to cobble up the setup as some kind of patch to AMR or if I should upload it as a separate whole thing. The presentation right now is still incomplete, and there's things like new models or sound effects that I haven't cleaned up. Might take a while.
