Review and longplay / walkthrough for "Back To The Future" (Part 1) on the Amstrad CPC!

HAPPY BACK TO THE FUTURE DAY! (Ok..ok..I'm a few hours out!)
And to celebrate I've finally completed a longplay of Back The Future Part I after putting it off for years and years...

...because this game is dreadful! Plus I could not work out what the hell you're supposed to do! Well now I do... kinda! The object of the game is to get George and Lorraine together (your future parents) whilst avoiding the advances of Lorraine and Biff the bully. Your progress is shown by your family photograph appearing or disappearing. Once the photograph has been restored to full you can escape in the DeLorean!

A quick guide -

Pickup the 'alien suit' in Doc's house. Use it to scare either Lorraine in the school so she stands still, or George so that he follows you. Get back to the school, pick up the 'love poems', use them on George whilst Lorraine is nearby and hopefully they'll interact with each other and fall in love! The effects don't last long so you may need to re-use or go to the other locations quickly if Lorraine and Biff are following you or George has wandered off there!

Nice concept and idea, poorly executed.

Just to clarify - in the object status bar at the top of screen if you're carrying an object it turns 'white', 'yellow' if you're nearby it and can pick it up, and if you 'use' it on a character successfully then their character icon turns 'green'. If two characters are interacting with each other (eg George and Lorraine) then both their character icons turn white.... I think. Confusing huh?
