Review and longplay / walkthrough for "Gryzor" on the Amstrad CPC! This is also a 'speed run' - completed in 5min 27secs (from when I take control of the player until control is taken away when the game is completed).]

One of the most famous and talked about games on the Amstrad CPC - some say it's one of the best ever! So let's at last take a look at it in the run up to the CPC's 30th birthday in June.....


Some things I didn't or forgot to mention (due to the short running time!) in the commentary -

* No-one knows for sure why it was renamed from Contra to Gryzor in Europe - best guess is it was because of the Contras (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contras) revolutionary/terrorist group in Nicaraguan and the Iran-Contra affair which was in the news at the time to avoid trouble.

* Some weapons are missing in the game such as the fireball gun

* You get a special and set score of 999,000 is you complete the game without losing a life with the laser weapon

* Bullets are all the same colour - very annoying!!
