A user has posted saying I should use / buy a VGA to SCART adaptor and that would get the MegaDrive side to work on a TV. Just to show what happens I used my VGA to Composite/S-video, which would give the same results. Still was worth doing as I couldn't remember if I had actually checked to see if the MegaDrive side worked.
