An alternative version of K-POP DEMON HUNTERS? #shorts
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few summer months, you can't have escaped the phenomenon created by K-pop's Demon Hunters. Released on June 20, 2025, this animated gem quickly reached the top of Netflix's top 10, even becoming the most-watched film of all time on the streaming platform.
It must be said that success isn't limited to record audience figures: social media is filled with covers of the show's signature songs, perfectly calibrated choreography, and cosplays of the three main heroines, Rumi, Zoey, and Mira. A veritable hit machine, even driving music charts around the world crazy. And Netflix has understood this.
On the weekend of August 22, 2025, the streaming platform broke its golden rule: never releasing its films in theaters. This principle was completely shattered by K-pop's Demon Hunters, which was given special screenings, inviting fans to dress up and sing along at the top of their lungs, in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.
More than 1,300 screenings were sold out, and the Empire State Building was even lit up in gold for the occasion, in reference to the title "Golden." Stars Arden Cho, May Hong, and Rei Ami, who perform the original voices of the three demon hunters, were even present for the occasion. France, however, was unfortunately not included in this big-screen marketing strategy.
Fortunately, Netflix still thought of its fans around the world: on August 25, 2025, the karaoke version of the animated film was released online. You can now sing along to "Golden," "How It's Done," "Takedown," "Soda Pop," or even "Your Idol" at the top of your lungs, right in your living room.
A small drawback for fans of the French version: for the moment, the lyrics are only available in English. So if you want to join the party, you'll have to skip the French translations directed by Anaïs Delva (Frozen) and listen to the original versions of the already iconic music.
While waiting for a potential K-pop Demon Hunters 2, which already seems well underway, you're invited to (re)watch the original film, with the added voiceover and the Korean option enabled.
