An ENTJ Struggling to Find a New Hobby | Daily Bravo 005
There's a cool quote that says people with my personality type work hard and make their play into work.
I think that's true. For many years, I've had very few hobbies. And even those hobbies have turned into obsessions at times.
Fitness is still my mainstay, but I have the tendency to go overboard with it at times. I've spent the last year working on toning that down.
But, one of my life-long hobbies, playing video games, has begun to finally fall off my list of fun activities.
I've been playing video games since I was three years old. But, over the decades, the way games are played has changed dramatically.
Now, I no longer have the time to invest into games because they often require 10 to 40 hour commitments in order to complete them. That's time I rarely have to invest over the course of a few months, let alone weeks.
Now games also require a great deal of the player's attention because they attempt to tell grandiose stories that one could easily forget if he or she didn't play the game everyday.
Although I still have the gym, I've really started to ramp up another hobby I've had for a few years--reading. I'm at the point where I now read 3 books a week on average.
But, one of my friends, a guy named Kazriko, is determined not to allow me to give up. He sent me a copy of the Rachet & Clank remake on the playstation 4. He believes that if I would just play the "right" games, I may find the joy I once had as a kid.
I'll let you know how it went once I've played the game.
