This is a flawed talk based on a Preach Gaming video that one of my guildmates linked to me. I didn't know it at the time but it's a series on the difficulties of pugging, and the weaknesses of Blizzard's systems regarding the ease of gearing and the warped expectations in part of players.
I wanted to add more to the conversation because I thought there wasn't enough said, and as I mentioned, I didn't know that there's a whole series to help illustrate Preach's points.
Still, I said what I wanted to say. I shared some thoughts based on one video and I want to put this up for you all to listen anyway. It's an important look at the present and future of the World of Warcraft especially with the Community tool, a feature that in my opinion can resolve many of the pug issues that face wow by giving players much more agency in finding the kinds of people they want to group with.
And that's the theme of what I've got to say today. Community. Gear, know-how and experience are extremely important. But that's not all it takes to make a successful group.
