Anbernic RG557 Unboxing (And ROMs Previews!)
Hi everyone! Hope ye're having a marvellous May, I'm enjoying the amazing Donegal sunshine!!!
I've just received my brand new Anbernic RG557 console today in the post, and couldn't be more excited to show ye all a sneak preview! :-D The RG557 caught my attention on the Anbernic website because it was compatible with PlayStation 2 and Nintendo GameCube ISOs, as well as Nintendo 3DS ROMs and I thought such a brilliant way to revisit more classics!
The initial setup process is really straightforward:
First I'd recommend getting a brand new microSD for your games (256GB/512GB should be satisfactory), the microSD card that comes with the box has ROMs built in anyway for handiness, but just it would be a torture if you're trying to install new ROMs onto the packaged 256GB card as it cut off on me several times...
Anyway, whenever you start up the RG557 initially, you'll just need to set up an internet connection, as well as downloading the latest update firmware...it's a bit of a wait but it's well worth it.
Then, when choosing the emulator you'd like to play (eg. MD.emu for Sega Mega Drive/Genesis games or any of the .emu emulators), go to Open Content, and then choose the arrow pointing up and you should see Browse For Folder, Browse For File and Custom Path. Go to Browse For Folder, locate the SD card folder on the left menu of the screen (the 3 lines on the top right) and select SD card. Then pick the corresponding folder of ROMs for your emulator (for MD.emu, it's megadrive). After choose Use This Folder, then Allow, and then ye're all set!!! :-D
As soon as you set up the emulators ye'd like to play, ye're all set for some retro gaming fun!!!
Anyway, hope ye all enjoy the vid and enjoy yer week!
