Doom II (PC): My FM Sound-Unit Style Arrangement Of 'Waiting For Romero To Play'
Hi all, here's another new FM Sound-Unit style video I came up with, my arrangement of one of my favourite tracks 'Waiting For Romero To Play' from the classic 1994 PC masterpiece 'Doom II' (also known as 'Doom II: Hell On Earth')! It's hard to believe this was released 30 years ago back in October last year!
This game holds special importance to me because it was one of the first few PC games I came across getting older, it was on my brother Gary's Windows 98 PC, I vividly remember that the Music Sound Card was 'Pro Audio Spectrum', but I couldn't remember if the sound effects were Sound Blaster or PC Speaker, I would say the latter.
Anyway, when I got DOOM II installed on my own PC (a Windows ME) some years later, I used to mind playing the levels with no monsters (via some Level Setup menu) and exploring with the peace and quiet. But as I grew older I realised it was more fun blasting away at the monsters roaming the levels instead :-)
DefleMask was used to make this tune (a brilliant FM Sound-Unit asset as always!) and it only took me 2 days to make, from yesterday (12 May) to today (13 May).
And if ye'd like to hear the original track (the OPL2 Sound Blaster original from 1994), ye can do so here: https://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/doom-ii-opl2-ibm-pc-ibm-pc-at-gamerip-1994/13.%20Waiting%20For%20Romero%20to%20Play.mp3
Hope ye enjoy this rendition of 'Waiting For Romero To Play' and thanks so much for watching! :-D
Ye're also more than welcome to download the track from my Google Drive folder here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1QYHGRVWoH-REGWgYjy2YUHoIdzVLnBa2
Oh and a note for headphone users: You may want to turn down the volume a bit during the 4th portion of the track as it's quite loud...
And also if anyone's wondering if I'm going to rearrange the other DOOM II music, I'm not 100% sure, as I like to game in my spare time (which is also why I'm unable to take requests to convert someone's favourite song)...but who knows! :-)
