Andrew Ambrose - Food For Thought (2xYM2203 Original Song)
It's time for another original chiptune song! I actually started on this song back in July of last year when a particular personal event happened to spark my interest. I did a little bit of work on it in July and a little bit more in September, but I kept it on the back burner before coming back to completely rework it now in January with tildearrow's Furnace tracker! I chose to go with a dual Yamaha YM2203 setup for this song akin to mid-'80s arcade games that used that chipset (most notably Capcom's Commando and Taito's The Legend of Kage), and I utilized FM instruments from Ys and The Legend of Kage. I didn't write lyrics for this like I did with my previous original song You Make the Change, but I did manage to do some cool harmonization stuff, and I'm overall very happy with what I've done here. Plus, I'm including some bonuses in the downloads: I recently decided to try out Furnace's Super Famicom support, and I managed to make my first two Super Famicom covers, Roads from the 1977 animated movie The Hobbit (I utilized electric piano samples from Side Pocket) and Tears of Sylph from Ys (I pretty much ported over my Namco C30 WSG cover by using the same wavetables). Anyways, I hope you all enjoy Food For Thought! ^w^
