simply disable any accessibility applications taking up priority drawing over the screen for example the magnification application shortcut keeps that application alive. By disabling all Magnification shortcuts your gamepads should work in games and supported applications, not just in the homescreen and limited Google applications.
It's a one step process that literally requires no other steps. No developer or root access required.
In the video I didn't even need to repair the pad or exit the game I changed a single setting and was able to play.
