Announcement, Approaching Milestones and Suggestions Abound!
169This video announces a number of things which I will mention here in no particular order:
1) I'm going on holiday for a little while. While I'm away videos have been scheduled to go up at the normal times so that even though I'm away my videos will continue. There'll be no break in the video upload schedule while I'm away.
2) I'm fast approaching a milestone I thought I'd never reach and that is 5,000 uploaded videos on my channel. And no, I'm not sure why I said I'd possibly pass it while I was away in the video, that's not going to happen for a bit yet. But hey, we're getting close!
I never thought when I started Let's Playing that I'd ever reach a fifth of that amount let alone the point I'm at now. What started as simply wanting to show people the games of my youth that seemed forgotten has grown on my channel to what is now and for that I thank you; without you subscribing and watching there wouldn't be many of you here to watch what I make. That sentance, reading it back, is stating the obvious but I didn't set out to draw a million subscribers with my videos and the same remains true now. I record and upload the videos I do because I enjoy doing so and I'm glad that so many people enjoy watching what I enjoy creating. I hope that this continues for many years to come and that those that are here - new subscribers and old - will be here to see it.
3) Linked to the fact that 5,000 videos is approaching I thought I'd do something a little different this time. Rather then a simple announcement video I'm going to put what the next Let's Play will be once I get closer to 5,000 videos will be. It's not something I've done before or intend to carry on after this (although if I hit another big milestone like 50,000 subscribers it's always something to consider as a way to commemorate it) and so I'm going to be interested to see what's suggested.
Something to consider is that this isn't a vote; suggestions for games to play are to be put in the comments for me to consider. Ultimately I'm going to Let's Play a game I want to play and if I did a game I really didn't enjoy due to a vote I think it would have an adverse effect on the videos as I wouldn't be enjoying recording them.
That said please put your suggestions in the comments and I'll take a look at them when I return from my holiday. When I've made a decision I'll start making tests to see if I can record it and get things ready for when I hit that milestone and start off the next 5,000 videos with something that might be a little different from what I normally do. Then again, it might be entirely something I'd normally do, who knows?
