Another Code Recollection | Full Game Walkthrough | No Commentary
103Today we archive the very first Switch game on this channel in the form of Another Code Recollection. This is a remake of the first two Another Code games that got released on the Nintendo DS and the Wii. Both are puzzle games with a niche audience that tell a mystery revolving around a girl named Ashley. This remake on the Switch does not only make everything look gorgeous with a brand new engine, but also entirely new puzzles.
I actually played this a bit during a recent vacation with the family and it honestly feels like the perfect vacation game. In the first half of Recollection you head towards a mysterious island and need to find your way through a large, abandoned mansion. Despite it being a bit spooky here and there, it is surprisingly relaxing and has a calm atmosphere. Its perfect for smaller 30-40 minute sessions for when you are in the car, plane or your hotel room. The puzzles are also perfect in terms of difficulty and I never had to look something up on how to solve something.
The second half of the game focuses on a story about a camping site and this feels more like a traditional adventure game with only a few puzzles here and there. You mostly will be involved in converstations with various characters and it was nice to actually have other characters to interact with unlike the first half of the game. The voice acting in the game is solid and I love how colorful and vibrant everything is. The art style is beautiful and I just could not help the feeling of coziness while playing it. I recently also archived the Spy X Anya game and I have come to find out that I really enjoy these cozy games, so I hope to find more of those in the future.
