0This is me VeeKiraRay playing one of Antstream Arcade many challenges. The game in question is "Ghost Pilots" for the Arcade. The challenge name is "Make It Count" and the description is "Hit as many targets as possible without missing single shot!"
Best tips I currently can give
Seeing the timer is gonna probably cause a bit distress but they given you plenty of time which means that you are in no rush to shoot anything. The timer is probably just to prevent from surviving to the boss where you could possibly dodge the boss and kill minions indefinetly.
You are given 2 bombs to start with and you will get 3 when you respawn but if you still had some left when you die they are lost. So better to use them than to lose them. The bomb explosion also block enemy shots so you can use it a defensive maneuvere as well instead of trying to get as many small planes.
The first planes that the game throws at you are going to be one of the toughest ones to take down since they kinda steer into you once your close enough to them in the horizontal axis. And if an enemy spawns already in that zone they can sometimes steer into opposite direction from where you are. The more risky move is to try and shoot in advance but you can also initiate their horizontal movement and then follow along them to line up the shot.
While you are getting a feel for their behaviour don't be afraid to take a few runs without shooting and just try dodging or try bombing since later a different color planes start to appear with a lot less horizontal movement and easier to shoot down.
Do not pick up the S-powerup it makes your shot more powerful but what it really means that your shots start to go through a single enemy and only stop if the same shot hits another. So in this challenge it is basically added difficulty.
Do pickup the B(omb)-powerup which is dropped if you manage to destroy the red planes that fly from left and right and try to meet in the down middle. Easiest way to achive this is to drop a bomb when they are close.
