Apocryph (PC) Alpha Gameplay (Awesome Heretic successor!)
Gameplay from the alpha version of Apocryph, an upcoming oldschool FPS that pays homage to such classics as Heretic, Hexen, and Painkiller.
Although it has a long ways to go, I'm already very impressed with what I've seen. The Heretic/Hexen influence is clear, from the oldschool HUD at the bottom of the screen (including the item inventory) to the satisfying "Hahaha!" that plays each time you collect a brand new weapon.
Apocryph also has some really cool features that help it stand out. One such feature, seen in this video, is the Painkiller-esque dynamic music. Outside of combat it's creepy and atmospheric, but when combat begins it launches into a mixture of hard-rock and techno. Coolest of all, however, is the ability to enable Quake-style "fractured animations" and even pixelize the entire screen in order to give the game an extra oldschool look. I didn't enable these features for this video, but I may upload another showing them in action!

Apocryph is set to release early this year on Steam. If you're as impressed with the game as I am, be sure to add it to your wishlist by visiting its Steam page here: http://store.steampowered.com/app/596240/Apocryph_an_oldschool_shooter/
