Its not enough in the package, but it still holds bacteria, just get eough
This product is a little bit for a 20 GALLON TANK. I purchased it for my 5 gallon system but I also have bio balls as well to help with the bacteria load. If you are considering this for a tank, then it is OK, but remember the more surface areas there are the better it is, so get about three or four boxes for a larger tank. For my 5 gallon planted system that I am creating I am using this plus two bags of bioballs as well as a lot of bacteria. I am also using seiryu rocks in my tank so there would have bacteria growing on that as well. Use fluval biological booster to help cycle your tank. This product in large numbers comes with strength, so get enough.
