I've been digging into this game quite a bit lately at Galloping Ghost Arcade. I did get a basic clear there earlier this week, but didn't meet the criteria to face the true last boss (TLB, for short); This run was the first time for me clearing with beating Master Program.
While I did spend the 1000 coins in this run to buy an extend from the shop, I'm planning on working on the game more and improving until I can clear without it. That should also increase my scoring potential, as all of your unused coins get converted to points after TLB is defeated (1000 coins = 5M points). I have to get more consistent with the Pluto fight, but then I should be able to hit this goal.
Some of the techniques I used are admittedly "cheap", (such as the uppercut relaunch infinite combo) but I have no qualms about abusing them due to the punishing nature of Capcom beat'em ups. Yellow Iris seems to be the easiest to pick up and get results with, but I'm considering going for clears with Cyber Blue and/or Pink Ostrich as well.
This gameplay was recorded with WolfMAME v.237 using default settings. As with all my runs - no TAS (tool assistance), cheats, hacks, or save states are used. Final score = 14,332,200 points.
