5In this tinglingly exciting arcade game video, I play "X Multiply" by Irem, which was released in 1989. I am quite sure that I never played or even saw this in the arcade back then, and I was certainly spending more than my share of time in arcades, so I suspect it wasn't very common.
There is a lot to like about this game, and it has an unusual mechanic which is not entirely unique, that does add a nice element to playing. I am talking about the "arms" that get added to the player's ship whenever a shot powerup is picked up for the first time.
Anyhoo, give it a spin, it's pretty fun!
