In which I play "Chessmaster 2000", published in 1986 by Software Country, and written by Mark Manyen.

I must apologize for the video lag. I'm not sure what's causing that, and I'll experiment with my recording settings to try and get it sorted out. I decided that it's not enough of a problem to re-record the video, and I'm in charge, so there, nyah-nyah.

Like every other chess program for the Atari that I've played in this series, The Chessmaster kicked my ass. Sad but true. In this game you do have to type in your moves in standard "chess notation" where the columns of the board are assigned a letter and the rows a number. It's not bad once you get used to it. There are some nice visualization options, including a 3D rendering, and the ability to rotate the board. The sounds are too shrill, but you can always turn down the volume.
