Arctic climate and carbon with NASA Scientist Dr. Peter Griffith
My guest for this week's stream is Dr. Peter Griffith, a carbon cycle scientist out of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland. https://science.gsfc.nasa.gov/sed/bio/peter.c.griffith
We talk about all the ways NASA is measuring the carbon cycles in the Arctic and what these observations can tell us about how carbon stored in Arctic permafrost might amplify human-caused global warming (and other climate changes).
We tried something new with Peter, since he couldn't get Fortnite to run on this computer. Instead, he just joined me on Skype while I played. The downside is that the actual Fortnite gameplay isn't as engaging but the plus side is that we can probably get many more climate scientists (and more famous ones) on the show if they don't have to actually play Fortnite! Please let me know what you think in the comments.
