Are Godzilla & Destoroyah Related in Some Way?
Destoroyah's origins are tied to microscopic crustaceans that lay dormant beneath Tokyo Bay for billions of years. Dr. Serizawa's use of the Oxygen Destroyer in 1954 inadvertently awakened and transformed these creatures, setting them on a path of evolution. Over four decades, they absorbed Micro-Oxygen, rapidly evolving and eventually surfacing due to construction activity in Tokyo Bay.
Destoroyah goes through multiple forms during its evolution, from a Micro Form resembling trilobites to the towering Perfect Form, reminiscent of Godzilla in body structure. The transition from the crustacean-like Aggregate Form to the reptilian Perfect Form is explained by the incorporation of Godzilla DNA into the fifth stage.
The critical moment in this transformation occurs during a battle with Godzilla Junior in Tokyo. Destoroyah sinks its secondary jaw into Junior's chest, injecting lethal Micro-Oxygen and sucking Junior's blood. This act allows Destoroyah to incorporate Godzilla DNA, triggering its transformation into the Perfect Form. In this sense, Destoroyah is a hybrid creature with a connection to Godzilla, similar to Biollante and Orga.
