Common Core State Standard 6th grade of finding the area of polygons by composing into rectangles / triangles.

CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.6.G.A.1
Find the area of right triangles, other triangles, special quadrilaterals, and polygons by composing into rectangles or decomposing into triangles and other shapes; apply these techniques in the context of solving real-world and mathematical problems.

Just to ensure no students get the wrong message: some mistakes in the video:

At 12:37, I say "8 and 8" when I should have said "10 and 8".

At 18:18, I say "2 non-right angle Rectangles" when I clearly mean "2 non-right angle triangles".

If you see anything else, let me know, so I can post clarifications here! Rule 5 in my classroom is that it's okay to make mistakes!
